The name is a misnomer; Ohm's law simply refers to the tendency for real world materials to obey this relation:

where $V$ is the voltage, $I$ is the current, and $R$ is a proportionality constant arguably defined by this equation. Essentially this law posits that resistors scale the current in a linear fashion. This law is used extensively in the analysis of resistors in circuit analysis.
