Ohm's Law

1. Introduction

The name is a misnomer; Ohm's law simply refers to the tendency for real world materials to obey this relation:

V=IR\begin{aligned}\label{}V = IR\end{aligned}

where VV is the voltage, II is the current, and RR is a proportionality constant arguably defined by this equation. Essentially this law posits that resistors scale the current in a linear fashion. This law is used extensively in the analysis of resistors in circuit analysis.
